Pyro Drying Oven: Controlled Drying Rooms for Fireworks Production
Drying is one of the longest and most safety-critical steps in fireworks manufacturing. Open-air racks and improvised heaters are slow, weather-dependent and hard to supervise. A purpose-built pyro drying oven gives licensed manufacturers a controlled, monitored and repeatable drying environment for semi-finished and finished products.

How a pyro drying oven differs from a standard industrial oven
General-purpose ovens are not designed for hazardous production buildings. A pyro drying oven separates the heat source from the drying chamber, uses explosion-proof electrical components, limits surface temperatures and is controlled remotely, so operators do not need to stay beside the load during the cycle.
Temperature, humidity and airflow are controlled within limits that you set according to your own product documentation and local regulations. PyroEquip supplies the equipment and controls; we do not specify product-related drying parameters.
Key features
- Indirect hot-air or infrared heating with the heat source outside the drying chamber
- Explosion-proof motors, sensors and lighting inside the hazardous zone
- PLC control with over-temperature cut-off and alarm logging
- Remote monitoring from a control room outside the safety distance
- Rack or trolley loading, with optional automatic loading and unloading
- Anti-static flooring, grounding points and dust-tight construction
Drying rooms and automatic drying lines
For smaller factories we supply single drying chambers with trolley racks. For high-volume plants, drying can be integrated into an automatic production line where conveyors move trays through drying zones and an unloading system transfers dried products to the next station without manual handling.
Safety and compliance
Drying buildings must follow your country's licensing, safety distance and building rules. Our engineers design the oven and controls around those requirements and the layout approved by your local authority, and we document electrical classifications for your safety file.
Frequently asked questions
Is a pyro drying oven suitable for any fireworks factory?
It is designed for licensed manufacturers operating approved hazardous production buildings. We size and configure each oven to the building, product mix and local regulations.
Hot air or infrared — which heating method should I choose?
Hot-air systems suit large rooms and mixed loads; infrared can shorten cycles for specific products. We recommend a method after reviewing your products, capacity and building layout.
Can the drying oven be monitored remotely?
Yes. The PLC can be operated and monitored from a control room, with temperature trends and alarms recorded for traceability.
Can drying be integrated with automatic loading and unloading?
Yes. We supply conveyor-fed drying lines and drying-unloading systems that connect to upstream and downstream stations.
What are the specifications of the sparkler drying tunnel?
Our sparkler drying system uses a 15 m long, 1.2 m wide conveyor belt with adjustable belt speed of 0.5–3 m/min, a maximum load of 300 kg, an airflow rate of 150 m³/hour and a 15 kW heat source.
